Locate The Loot

History

The first Locate The Loot was in 2006 in Leavenworth, WA where the IMO Foundation would hold its' annual Festival during the second weekend of June each year.  At the start of the festival each year, clues to a hidden egg, somewhere in the village of Leavenworth, would be provided through riddle or poem.  The lucky person who located the egg would find a letter inside listing the names of every tribute honored at the IMO Festival.  The lucky recipient would earn $1 for each name.  As the number of tributes grew year after year, so did the 'Loot'.  At the foundation's final summer festival in 2013, Locate The Loot paid $122 for the 122 legacies of family and friends honored and shared over the prior decade.  

6 Years Later, Locate The Loot is Back...

• For every new 'hunt', an announcement is made via the IMO Foundation's Facebook Group Page
• 2 - 4 clues are released to start each new hidden Loot
• A new clue is released every 3-5 days for up to 3 weeks
• If the Loot is not located after 3 weeks, a final clue is released with a google map image of the focus area
• The original egg has been replaced with a secret envelope (see image below)
• Lucky treasure hunters that Locate The Loot must do these 3 things:
  1. Take a picture with you and the letter and post '#LocateTheLoot' and image to IMO Facebook Group
  2. Text IMO's banker (cell number on letter) your name and email
  3. IMO's banker will wire the $122 directly to you

Here's how you know you've 'Located The Loot'

• The Loot envelope size is 5 3/4  x  4 3/8 - pictured below
• The envelope is in plain sight but may require you to look from underneath, behind, on top, or move something slightly
• The envelope may be enclosed in a clear plastic bag to avoid weather damage
• The envelope will not be buried, on private property of personal residences, or higher than 6 feet
• Inside the envelope will be the Locate The Loot winning certificate, redeemable for $122

3 Important Things To Keep In Mind...

• Be Safe! The Loot will never be hidden in a place dangerous to search
• Have fun!  This is a great opportunity to get out of the house, off devices, and go on a treasure hunt with the family
